Scrappage Incentive Scheme10 March 2010 - Gates announces the end of their Ford Scrappage scheme 22 October 2009 - As announced by Lord Mandelson, the Scrappage Scheme has been extended. The £2,000 allowance will now include cars registered on or before 29 February 2000 (V registration or before) and vans registered on or before 28 February 2002 (Y registration or 51 plate or older). The Government has also released additional funds, so the scheme is available to a further 100,000 applicants. 28th September 2009 - The Government announced its intention to extend the Scrappage Scheme. We will be updating the site as and when further details are released so please return to this page: Wednesday 22 April 2009 - In the Budget Chancellor Alistair Darling announced the introduction of a Government Scrappage Scheme, a £2,000 allowance on vehicles aged 10 years or over. In exchange for scrapping your old vehicle and buying a new one the Government and Gates Group will contribute a total of £2,000 towards the purchase of a new vehicle
