2016 was another highly successful year for Ford, with two major awards to add to its trophy cabinet. The marque received recognition for the Fiesta as a stand-out hot hatch. It also enjoyed high praise for its ethical practices. Once again, Ford has consolidated its deserving reputation as an industry-leading car maker with two internationally respected accolades.
Ford Fiesta ST-2: Best Hot Hatch, What Car? Car of the Year 2016
The Fiesta has long been famed for its incredible performance and the quality of its drive. The latest Ford Fiesta is no exception, with the ST-2 variant named as What Car? Car of the Year in the hot hatch category.
The judges raved about the Fiesta, saying: “Not only is the Fiesta brilliant to drive, it’s more fun than some cars costing £100,000; it really does feel like a mini rally car for the road.
“Simply put, it’s everything you want in a hot hatch. Fast enough to thrill, but not so fast as to scare, small enough to fit easily down tight back roads, and with alert, corner-hungry handling that’s joyful even on mundane roads.”
Ford: one of World’s Most Ethical Companies
For the seventh year running, Ethisphere Institute has named Ford on its 2016 list of World’s Most Ethical Companies. Ford is the only car manufacturer to be named on the list, which recognises ethical practices and corporate citizenship.
Timothy Erblich, who is Ethisphere’s Chief Executive Officer, explained why Ford is so deserving of recognition on the list. He said: “Ford understands that trust is the cornerstone of everything it does, and their commitment to being an active part of a global community helps explain why they are the only automaker Ethisphere has recognized every year since 2010.”
