Life at Gates Ford

Here at Gates Ford, we like to believe that there’s more to life than work. Of course, the day-to-day tasks of running a network of successful dealerships are of the utmost importance, but that doesn’t mean that your working day shouldn’t be fun and rewarding. That’s why we work tirelessly to ensure that every member of staff feels valued and has the chance to flourish in their role. As a Gates employee, you’ll get to enjoy the benefits of working for a family-owned and operated establishment. This not only means fulfilling your duties within your own workspace, but in being a part of our community and charity ventures.

How to Apply

Gates and the local community

At Gates, we are proud to support local organisations and help contribute to charitable funds and causes on a regular basis.

Among those organisations is the Haven House Children’s Hospice “100 Club”. Alongside a community of local groups, we aim to support and inspire others while helping raise valuable funds for the Haven House Children’s Hospice. The hospice has helped over 900 families to date but requires continual funding in order to maintain its services. We at Gates Ford take great pride in helping to raise money for the organisation and will continue to carry out a number of fundraising activities in 2019 to assist the hospice in its valuable work.

In addition to working as part of the Haven House 100 Club, we also take part in a range of other local events throughout the year. The St Albans Half Marathon, for example, will see us act as one of the event sponsors, with a team of runners from within Gates Ford also competing. Hundreds of competitors take to the roads of St Albans during this event to help raise awareness and funds for a selection of local charities.

During our Centenary year, we are also proud to be supporting the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance providing a Ford Mondeo for their use during 2020. Additionally, we have supported the charity's "Blood On Board" initiative by supplying a Ford Mondeo at cost to the Essex Voluntary Blood Service. Working for Gates

We at Gates also aim to give back to our staff. Not only do we provide a range of benefits and incentives to help make your working life as enjoyable as can be, we also take the time to reward individuals for their outstanding contributions and long service. We recognise that a company is only as good as the people it employs. Since the company was established in 1920, Gates have expanded significantly thanks to the hard work of our dedicated team.

Gates 20 Year Service Club

There are many employees across the group who have been with the company for more than 20 years - these members of staff have a combined total of nearly 4,000 years Motor Trade experience. To recognise the loyalty demonstrated by them, the Gates 20 Year Service Club was formed. Members meet up regularly with the Directors at Gates for a celebration dinner - a token of appreciation to the contribution provided by those individuals.

Pictured below are the latest of our employees to join the "20 Year Service Club", from left to right: Simon Lewis - Sales Manager at Gates of Harlow, Michael Morling - Transit Centre Sales Manager at Gates of Harlow, Lloyd Rayner - Aftersales Manager and Jaime Ellis - Group New Car Administrator.
