Ford SYNC is the manufacturer’s innovative and intelligent connectivity technology that helps keep you entertained and connected to the outside world in the safest manner possible. Whether it’s making calls while on the go, accessing your favourite music, or even sourcing events in the surrounding area, the system is now a prominent part of Ford’s in-car technology.

The latest iteration of Ford SYNC – SYNC 3 – features an 8-inch touchscreen and an updated level of functionality to deliver an even more intuitive experience. Increased functionality such as the pinch, tap, and swipe gestures common to smartphones, and voice commands for maximum safety, is designed to help you focus on the road ahead and keep your hands on the steering wheel.

The new Ford SYNC 3 system also features AppLink, which enables it to connect with Apple’s CarPlay and Android Auto. This offers you a safe way to use your smartphone’s features while driving.

Another feature of Ford’s state of the art Ford SYNC system is Emergency Assistance. Ford has not only developed technology to help prevent accidents, it has also introduced post-accident help for drivers who are involved in a collision. The Ford SYNC with Emergency Assistance system is a potentially life-saving feature on modern Ford vehicles.

In the event of an accident where the airbag is deployed or the fuel pump is shut off, this system uses the vehicle’s Bluetooth connection with your mobile phone to initiate a call to the emergency services. If you are unharmed, you are given a short window in which to cancel the call or, if necessary, you can speak to those services you require.

Once the call connects, SYNC alerts the operator to the fact an accident has taken place and provides information such as the vehicle’s GPS coordinates, ensuring help can reach you quickly. Once these details are provided, the line is opened for you to communicate with the operator. The system is particularly vital if you are unconscious or unable to make a call yourself.
