Gates entered a team into the 2017 Corporate Challenge with James Bosher, Joe Spraggins, Dan Reynolds and Jared Bethall taking on the gruelling 13.1 mile half marathon course - the boys did Gates proud by actually winning the coveted corporate prize! The team were awarded with prizes including champagne and a hard-earned keg of beer along with £250 which will be donated to the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Trust. James Bosher, who is a Vehicle Technician said: “ Overall, it’s easy to see why the event has received awards for best half marathon as the organisation on the day was great.” James continues: “the race itself however, was one of the toughest half marathons I have ever done. Thanks to Gates for the opportunity and thanks to my parents and the boys for a really good day.”
As the Half Marathon took place, the official tail car, a new Ford Edge complete with special race day graphics supplied by Gates of St Albans, could be seen supporting the runners around the course. Back in the Runner’s Village, where Gates were stage sponsors, a Ford Transit Van was on display forming the basis of the “Post-It” challenge with Gates’ Event Team. Race participants were encouraged to post their messages stating why they love St Albans Half Marathon, covering the vehicle.
