Parts Manager Vacancy - Stevenage

We are currently recruiting for a Parts Manager at Gates of Stevenage FordStore.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administration of Parts Department’s operating policies and standards to achieve maximisation of profitability and comply to the manufacturers standards as required.
  • Maintain a satisfactory Parts service to retail customers and to the workshop to obtain a correct share of the available local market.
  • Select, hire and train Parts staff, in conjunction with the Group Parts Director.
  • Agree Stock levels with Group Parts Director to provide the required service levels to all departments.
  • Maintain effective expense control in line with budget objectives by weekly examination of level of expenses.
  • Improve efficiency by weekly examination of Labour and direct cost within control against agreed targets.
  • List of obsolete and slow moving parts to be prepared regularly for discussions with Group Parts Director.
  • Plan and agree with Operations Director and Group Parts Director various displays and sales promotions.
  • Operate correctly parts stocking system as stated in Company Policy, Standing Instructions.
  • Ensure that all suppliers invoices are verified within in the time required.
  • Prepare and approve staff pay claims – including calculations of provisional bonus.
  • Sign off against original invoice every cash credit issued.
  • Establish adequate safety and security procedures and equipment to protect Company property, equipment and personnel.
  • Ensure all clerical functions within the Parts operation are carried out in accordance with Company Policy and standing Instructions.
  • Maintain liaison with other Departmental Managers.
  • Maintain satisfactory customer relations through expeditious and courteous handling of all parts customers, ensuring customer complaints are suitable resolved.
  • Ensure adequate maintenance of all equipment within the department.
  • Review on a continuing basis the terms and conditions of all departmental employees, reporting such to the Operations Director to maintain the highest standards of job satisfaction and productivity.
  • Ensure training standards are maintained, correct personnel selected for courses, and constant assessment.
  • Carry out an assessment of all substances in use within the Department and if necessary complete an assessment form for Control of Substances Hazardous to Health.
  • Observe all health and safety, and COSHH regulations at all times.
  • Observe all company agreed policies in line with code of practice.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Management experience in a similar role within a parts department.
  • The successful candidate will enjoy working with customers, both face-to-face and over the telephone using CDK Global computer system.
  • A smart appearance and attention to detail is essential.
  • A full driving licence is essential.
