The exciting new Focus Black and Red Editions were unveiled in March at the Geneva Motor Show. The keenly-anticipated release is likely to come later this year. Giving all of the best elements of the beloved Focus a sporty makeover, the Red and Black Editions are designed to put a thrill into everyday driving.
The striking two-tone paint of the new Focus is available in Black or Red. The Black Edition smoulders in Panther Black with a red roof, wing mirrors and rear bumper detailing. The sizzling Race Red body of the Red Edition, its equal and opposite number, is set off by black detailing. Both models feature sporty details designed to enhance aerodynamic downforce, including side skirts and a rear spoiler.
The distinctive interior design of the Black and Red Editions creates the ideal environment from which to enjoy the thrill of driving. The vivid red stitching on the upholstery, gearstick and steering wheel reflect the athletic exterior style. Travel in supreme comfort, thanks to sports seats which are designed to feel supportive, no matter how fast you take the corners.
It is likely that there will be four engine options to choose from, but
Ford has yet to confirm this. The most likely line-up comprises two
petrol and two diesel engines, giving customers a range of power and
efficiency levels. Thanks to Ford’s award-winning EcoBoost technologies,
drivers of the Red and Black Editions will have a lot of power to play
The Fiesta Red and Black variants benefited from chassis modifications to harness the extra power and we expect the Focus models to be the same. These are likely to result in livelier handling thanks to stiffer, lower suspension, and more rapid acceleration brought about by lower gear ratios. And the agile performance does not come at too great a cost, either to the environment or your pocket, with engines tuned to optimise efficiency.
The Black and Red specifications have been based on the Zetec S trim of
the standard Focus. Well-equipped to make sure you enjoy a comfortable
and enjoyable drive, the current Zetec S features Bluetooth®
connectivity and a DAB radio. The multimedia system is controlled
intuitively from a 4.2-inch colour screen, so your attention is not
diverted from the road ahead. The standard Focus gained a five-star
rating and four Advanced Safety Rewards from Euro NCAP, and the new
editions are expected to feature the same safety systems.
