The new ST Line trim update injects an additional touch of athleticism into two of Ford’s best-known models. The Ford Focus and Fiesta have each received an update with the new ST Line trim level, bringing new sporty styling and a more powerful driving performance to both models. Inspired by the ST hatchback model, Ford has adapted its best features to suit two existing models in the range, meeting buyers’ growing desire for a drive that’s as sporty as it is safe and reliable.
Both models have received a makeover on the outside with a modified interior cabin and new powerful engine options. You can spot an ST Line Ford on the road from its sculpted exterior, wider alloy wheels and recognisable ST badging. Both of the two upgraded models benefit from the full set of sports suspension, sports front seats, alloy pedals and an exterior bodykit.
The smaller model in the range, the Ford Fiesta is unique in the colour choice of SVO Storm Grey paint and two-tone 17-inch alloys. On the interior the ST Line Fiesta has been transformed with illuminated tread plates, Recaro sports seats with leather trim and seatbelts with silver striping. The Fiesta ST is also available as a three or five-door variant.
The Focus ST-Line interior echoes the car’s distinctively stylish image, with sports seats, a silver gearshift insert, stainless steel foot pedals, and unique ST-Line perforated leather-trimmed steering wheel.
On both the Fiesta and Focus, front fog lamps and unique badging set ST-Line apart from the crowd.
When it comes to the engine, buyers have a choice between three petrol engines with a 1.0-litre EcoBoost motor ranging from 99 to 138bhp, or a bigger 1.5-litre diesel engine at 94bhp. Tweaks to the Fiesta’s drive make the new sports version a more agile, weighted drive, featuring a torque vectoring system that locks your front wheels to maintain the line.
The Focus is available as a five-door or estate vehicle with the ST Line trim. The three petrol engines range in their power outputs from 123 to 180bhp and the two available diesels produce 118bhp and 148bhp apiece. The 2.0-litre TDCi engine is the best choice for fuel efficiency, offering a lot of torque for even better acceleration. New highly reactive steering and excellent handling with the ST Line trim takes driving a Focus to the next level. Ford has even fitted new Focus ST models with a sound synthesiser to enhance the engine sound to produce an authentic race-like feel.
Ford’s sporty refresh of a classic model doesn’t do anything to damage its affordability. CO2 emissions with the Focus’ 2.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine stand at 159g/km with a 41.5mpg economy, while the diesel delivers lower 67.3mpg and emissions of 110g/km.
The ST Line trim level transforms the Focus on the inside too, with a metal ST gearstick, an eight-inch touchscreen and Ford’s most advanced infotainment system. The satellite navigation system and reverse camera are additional extras. You can learn more about all of the fantastic features available within the Ford range in our technology area.
