Logistics Manager Vacancy in Harlow

The role is to manage the day-to-day movement of vehicles across the business, increase efficiency and speed up Sales vehicle movements between locations, external suppliers and on occasions customers.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage a team of logistics drivers and compounds within the business.
• Ensure that Sales vehicle movements between sites and to suppliers or customers are within the prescribed time frames.
• Ensure that the software designed for managing drivers evolves to allow other areas of the business to maximise efficiency and cost savings for the group.
• Resource planning to ensure drivers are fully utilised across the group ensuring any absence due to holidays/sickness is covered accordingly.
• Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure the delivery and collection of vehicles in a smooth professional manner.
• Coordinate with Sales personnel to ensure that vehicle requests are delivered in the prescribed time frame.
• Introduce training initiatives to ensure drivers remain up to date with qualifications, regulations and health and safety. Create a training manual for new technology working practices.
• Constantly analyse workforce data and create management reports to show managers’ utilisation and effectiveness of drivers.
• Manage fleet fuel cards to ensure drivers can pay for fuel and report fuel and other expenses via the drivers’ app.
• Introduce and manage the new technology to drivers and the sales force to ensure a more streamlined delivery method.
• Recruit new drivers as and when required.
