Gates are delighted to announce that we will once again be sponsoring and attending the popular Cars at the Castle event in Hertford for the fourth consecutive year. Gates continue to support many local community events and charities and are delighted to once again be involved in one of Hertford’s most popular annual events.
Taking place on Sunday 7th June 2026 from 12:00pm to 4:00pm, Cars at the Castle is one of Hertfordshire’s largest free vehicle shows, featuring more than 60 modern and classic cars and motorcycles displayed within the grounds of Hertford Castle.

This year’s event will also showcase electric vehicles and sustainable travel initiatives as part of Hertford Town Council’s ongoing commitment to promoting safer cycling and greener transport options.
Gates Automotive are likely to be a familiar name among many in Essex, Hertfordshire and Greater London, having been established as a Ford Main Dealer Group for over 126 years. Over the last year or so, Gates dealerships have considerably widened their product offering within the local area adding new brands alongside Ford, including: BYD, OMODA, JAECOO, Peugeot, Leapmotor & Geely.
Gates' Events Team will be in attendance at the 2026 Cars at the Castle Event, proudly supporting the Hertfordshire event for the fourth consecutive year, complete with an exhibition stand, this year showcasing a range of Ford, BYD and Geely models. In keeping with Hertford Town Council's mission to encourage greener, sustainable transport, Gates will have a range of Electric Vehicles for visitors to explore - including the All-Electric Ford Puma Gen-E, the All-Electric Ford Explorer, the All-Electric Ford Capri, the BYD Sealion 5 and the BYD ATTO 3 EVO - both of which have only recently arrived at Gates BYD dealerships, and the Geely Starray EM-i and Geely EX5. Cars at the Castle will be with first local event where the Geely model range will be on display, following the recent opening of Geely at Gates of Waltham Cross, just a short distance from Hertford.
As part of the annual car competition, representatives from Gates will join the Mayor of Hertford and fellow event sponsors to judge and present awards across a number of categories, including Best Paintwork, Best Interior, Best British Car, Best Pre-1970 Classic, Best Post-1970 Classic and Best International Car.
