In March 2022, Ford announced significant steps towards an "All-Electric" future in Europe. Plans include the introduction of three new electric passenger vehicles and four new electric commercial vehicles by 2024.
The All-Electric Mustang Mach-E launched last year and later this year, the Mach-E GT will be added to the range. Furthermore, we anticipate the arrival of Ford's first All-Electric van, the Ford E-Transit, at our Transit Centres very soon. But a further seven electric vehicles are set to join the Ford family in Europe over the next couple of years.
Starting in 2023, Ford will begin production of an all-new electric medium-sized crossover passenger vehicle, built in Cologne, with a second electric vehicle also to be added to the Cologne production line-up in 2024. The all-electric crossover is set to break new boundaries for Ford as it's anticipated range capability will be in the region of 310 miles on a single charge. Ford plan to reveal the name of this exciting new vehicle a little later on in 2022.
In addition, the Ford Puma, Ford's best selling passenger vehicle in Europe in 2021, will be available as an All-Electric Vehicle from 2024. Furthermore, Ford's iconic Transit range will see the introduction of more All-Electric models too with the All-New Transit Custom one-tonne van and Tourneo Custom multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) in 2023. The compact, next generation Transit Courier Van and the Tourneo Courier MPV will then follow during 2024.
At Gates Ford, we will of course keep customers up to date as these exciting plans take shape so be sure to check back for all of the latest news.
