All Gates employees were recently given the opportunity to use one of our All-Electric Mustang Mach-E demonstrators for a period of up to a week. In return, employees provided valuable feedback on how they found the experience of "owning" an electric vehicle. Over the last few weeks, we have been sharing, via social media, some insights into the feedback we have received!
We understand that there are many questions, myths and misconceptions when it comes to making the switch to Electric Vehicles - but as a result of our EV Experience, we have been able to address many of these! Our aim was to empower our employees with a real understanding of what it is like to own an Electric Vehicle, as well as further enhancing product knowledge. This knowledge and expertise can then be passed on to you, our valued customers.
Prior to the experience, one of our Sales Manager's would conduct a full handover - this provided an overview of some of the vehicle technology, controls and features. An explanation was also provided with regards to the different types of charging and a run through of the charging cables provided with the vehicle. This served as a great opportunity for employees to ask any questions before they got behind the wheel!
The All-Electric Mustang Mach-E was provided with a minimum of 80% charge. Staff were then free to use the vehicle as they went about their everyday lives, using the Mustang Mach-E for up to one week. By experiencing the vehicle in this way, our employees were able to gain a very good understanding of what Electric Vehicle ownership is like and how it fits into their lifestyles. Once the driving experience was complete, the vehicle had to be returned with at least 80% charge. Staff were not permitted to use company charging points - this was so they could experience fully what owning and charging an electric vehicle would be like and the challenges they may have needed to overcome.
Once our employees completed their driving experience, they provided us with feedback on how it went. In particular, we were keen to understand their answers to some frequently asked questions that we receive from customers who are thinking of making the switch to an Electric Vehicle.
