New rules on MOTs announced by Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency

Cars and Vans due an MOT from 30th March 2020 will have MOT extended by six months

There has been much concern with regards to vehicle MOT testing as the COVID-19 situation unfolds in the UK. It has subsequently been announced that cars and vans due their MOT from 30th March 2020, will have the expiry date extended by a period of six months. This extension will continue until confirmed otherwise by the DVSA.

The announcement will allow vehicle owners to be able to travel to work where absolutely necessary and to do essential shopping. It is worth noting however, that vehicles must still be kept in a roadworthy condition and drivers could be prosecuted if driving a vehicle that is deemed as unsafe.
