Many children will once again be learning remotely after schools were closed in England on Tuesday. Home schooling will now become commonplace to all but children of key workers and those deemed “vulnerable”.
As a result, there is a huge demand for PCs and laptops so that online learning can be accessible to as many pupils as possible at home, easing the pressure off the demand for school places. We are delighted to have been able to assist local school, Springmead Primary in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire by donating ten PCs.
Darren Cooper, Joint Managing Director of Gates said: “As a family business, we understand the difficulties that home-schooling can present” Darren continues “we hope that this donation goes some way to helping local families to access the necessary online resources whilst these restrictions are in place”.
Karen Cayford, Headteacher at Springmead Primary School said: "One of the main issues for our families has been the ability to access our remote learning offer from home. These PCs will change that for many of our families and we are grateful to Gates for this generous gesture.”
