Showroom Controller vacancy - Harlow

Gates of Harlow are recruiting for a Showroom Controller to support our Sales Operations.

Are you a highly organised, Customer-focused Professional with a passion for vehicles and Sales Coordination? We’re looking for a Showroom Controller to manage the day-to-day operations across both our Passenger Vehicle (PV) and Commercial Vehicle (CV) showrooms.

The role of Showroom Controller at Gates often provides a pathway into Sales Management, for candidates with a proven success in the role.

About the Role:

As a Showroom Controller, you’ll act as the central hub for showroom activity—ensuring seamless operations, exceptional customer experience, and tight coordination between Sales processes and Management. This dual role spans both our PV and CV departments, offering variety, challenge, and progression.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily showroom operations for both PV and CV teams.
  • Control negotiations and second face where possible.
  • Follow a structured approach to maximise renewal conversion rates.
  • Revisit lost opportunities.
  • Appointment building and generation.
  • Daily 1-2-1's with Sales Executives.
  • Support the sales team with enquiry handling, vehicle allocation, and test drives.
  • Deliver and ensure exceptional customer service during visits, test drives, and handovers.
  • Training/Coaching to support our Trainee program and further develop our experienced Executives
  • Deal stacking with parameters.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Future aspirations to progress into Sales Management
  • Previous experience in a dealership environment (PV, CV or both)
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills
  • Confidence and the ability to manage a team of Sales Executives
  • Customer-first mindset with great interpersonal communication
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting
  • Knowledge of DMS systems (e.g., Kerridge/CDK) is a plus
  • Full UK driving licence
