What is Motability

The Motability Scheme is a government-backed initiative designed to help those with a disability stay mobile and maintain their independence. At Gates OMODA and JAECOO, we are proud to offer a range of Motability vehicles to suit every need. With over 100 years of experience in the automotive industry, you can trust us to provide exceptional service and support throughout your Motability journey.

The Motability Scheme is an all-inclusive package.

Every three-year car lease includes:

Insurance for up to three drivers
Servicing and maintenance
Full breakdown cover
Tyre repair and replacement
A home chargepoint and standard installation when you choose an electric vehicle on the Motability Scheme, or access to the bp pulse network

Following UK Government tax changes, updates are being introduced to ensure the Scheme remains sustainable long term. From 1 July 2026 the lease will include:

Mileage allowance: 30,000 miles over a three-year lease
Tyre replacement: up to six tyres during a three-year lease (including up to four due to damage)
EU breakdown: customers will need to pay an admin fee for a VE103 certificate and inform the RAC when travelling outside the UK

Am I eligible for a Motability Car? To be eligible for the Motability Scheme, you must receive one of the following benefits and have at least 12 months’ award remaining: Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance, Enhanced Rate Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment, War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement, or Armed Forces Independence Payment. Our team can help you determine if you are eligible for the scheme.
