An all-American performance car, the Mustang finally made its way to the UK in 2016, prompting Ford to produce its first right-hand drive iteration of the classic automobile. Great to look at and enormous fun to drive, this popular muscle car has long-since outgrown its ‘all-power, no-finesse’ days by adding much-improved handling and agility. We’re delighted to offer a number of second hand Ford Mustang cars at Gates Ford in Essex, Hertfordshire and London for you to test drive today.
Available in coupé and convertible body styles, the Mustang possesses a leather-upholstered four-person cabin. Front-row travellers benefit from six-way-adjustable sports seats, and plenty of leg and headroom. Two large cup holders are a feature of the Mustang’s centre console, and just one example of a number of cubby spaces. Climate control also features as standard, and a 408-litre boot is easily opened by a button on the car key.
Entry-level models feature a 2.3-litre 313bhp petrol engine, while GT variants are powered with a 5.0-litre V8 petrol unit, which produces 410bhp and 530Nm of torque. The former is the most fuel-efficient option, returning up to 35.3mpg, and it produces 0-60mph in approximately six seconds. The latter, meanwhile, delivers 0-60mph in roughly 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 155mph.
Ford SYNC 2 is included as standard, as are DAB radio, Bluetooth connectivity and voice control. Some models are also specified with satellite navigation and a Shaker audio system.
Enhanced brakes match the vehicle’s pace and potency, and a rear-view camera is also fitted as standard. Other safety features include Electronic Stability Control, an Anti-lock Braking System, Emergency Brake Assist, Tyre Pressure Monitoring and eight airbags.
