You can expect all of the same features that we have all come to know and love with the Ford Kuga - plus there are some new additions too. Here are just a small selection of the things we think you'll really like about the Ford Kuga:
The Ford Kuga is available in a number of different powertrains including Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV), Self Charging Hybrid variants (FHEV), along with a 1.5 EcoBoost petrol engine. Let's take a look at each one to further understand the benefits:
The Ford Kuga FHEV is self-charging so there is no need to plug in to charge. It has a 2.5-litre petrol engine along with an electric motor - the two can run independently, thus delivering improved fuel economy and reduced emissions. The battery charges as you drive utilising regenerative braking. FHEVs tend to run on electric power at low speeds and over limited distances (for example, a mile or so) and utilise the petrol engine at other times.
The Ford Kuga PHEV meanwhile works differently from the self-charging model. Whilst it still has a 2.5-litre petrol engine with a batter powered electric motor. The Kuga PHEV is capable of running on electric power only with a range of up to 42 miles*. This is perfect for those shorter day to day journeys that many of us do, but you have the best of both worlds as the petrol engine is there should you need to travel further and switch between the two! PHEVs can be charged at home via a wallbox or domestic socket, or on the go at public charging stations.
