Fuel-efficient, powerful and, above all, capable – the Ford EcoSport is back and looking better than ever. Revealed at the Frankfurt Motor show in September, this Smart Utility Vehicle is ready to face the toughest conditions out there and walk away victorious once again.
With a new rugged and stylish design punctuated by bold alloy wheels and silver roof rails, the SUV looks better than ever. On the inside, an ergonomic and refined design with a floating touchscreen and Ford SYNC 3 have become standard across the range.
The new Ford EcoSport will also be available as part of the sportier Ford ST-Line series of trim. The model itself includes numerous upgrades, including a Contrast Colour Roof, a B&O Play Premium Audio System, a Detachable Tow Bar, Power-slide Sunroof, HID Headlamps and the possibility for 18-inch Alloy Wheels.
The upgraded SUV also promises to deliver the comfort and convenience the manufacturer has become renowned for. With heated front seats and steering wheel, a quickclear windscreen technology and power-foldable heated door mirrors, the new EcoSport is designed to keep its occupants away from harsh weather conditions.
Safe and secure, the new EcoSport has technologies designed to both protect and prevent. In addition to the standard driver and passenger front airbags and driver knee airbag, there are now side airbags that provide thorax protection and direct the occupant away from the impact area, while curtain airbags were installed to maximise coverage. On the road, Anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic brake-force distribution make braking more effective than ever. The Electronic Stability Control system inside the EcoSport will monitor the vehicle’s status and automatically apply braking pulses to individual wheels that are losing grip.
On the inside, the new EcoSport has received significant upgrades. Powered by the new 1.5 EcoBlue diesel engine with All-Wheel Drive or the award winning 3-cylinder petrol EcoBoost version, the new EcoSport seems set on conquering the road. The engineering has received an upgrade as well – a 6-speed transmission is now present across the manual powertrains while the Start Stop technology has become standard on all engines. For those looking for even more power, a high-performance diesel variant of the engine will be available.
