If you are a Ford vehicle owner, we recommend that you download the FordPass app. It can be downloaded free of charge and it is quick and easy to set up. There are a huge range of features and benefits that we are sure will be really useful. Read on to find out more information.
FordPass Connect is a modem with SIM that connects your Ford vehicle to the internet. Fitted to the vehicle itself, it updates automatically and delivers access to a host of advanced connected features such as Live Traffic information or WiFi Hotspot.
In addition, it can enhance the functionality of your FordPass App, enabling you to remotely control selected vehicle features.
Most vehicles in the New Ford Car and Commercial Vehicle range have FordPass connectivity so when you upgrade your vehicle at Gates Ford, it's likely that you'll be able to take advantage of the benefits detailed below! Our video shows how to activate your modem and unlock these benefits!
Choosing a vehicle with FordPass Connect means you can access connectivity features that will boost your Ford ownership experience. These include:
Remote Start/Stop, which enables you to start an automatic vehicle from your home or workplace so it can de-ice in time for your drive on cold mornings*.
Remote Lock/Unlock, which enables you to lock the doors remotely or give a friend or partner access to the vehicle if you can’t meet them in person.
Vehicle Health Alerts, which provides you information about your fuel and oil levels, tyre pressure and warranty status within the app.
Live Traffic, which provides you with live traffic streaming direct to your Ford SYNC navigation system, updating your route depending on the traffic conditions.

With the FordPass app, you can also set up your local Gates dealership as your "preferred dealership". By doing so, you'll get quick and easy access to lots of useful information such as opening hours, available dealership services and facilities, as well as being able to book your Ford vehicle in with us.
You'll also be able to view your Digital Service record and have access to our special aftersales offers.

Roadside Assistance - If you have Ford Roadside assistance, FordPass can be used to let Roadside Assistance services know your location. What's more, you can also track them on their way to you!
eCall – In the event of an accident in which you are incapacitated, eCall contacts the emergency services. You can also access a manual option if you witness an accident or emergency.
Find nearby parking - Save time and money by choosing your parking spot in advance. You can also easily find the vehicle again in unfamiliar locations
View nearby petrol stations - find the nearest and most convenient for your journey
Destinations - Send them directly from your smartphone to your vehicle's SYNC 3 Navigation system
WiFi Hotspot - which enables 10 devices to be connected to the in-car Wi-Fi hotspot allowing you to stream services without using your phones data allowance - perfect for streaming music or movies to keep the kids entertained on long journeys. When it comes to Ford Electric Vehicles, the FordPass app really comes into it's own. As well as offering all of the other benefits outlined, there are some additional features that will keep you connected to your Ford EV at all times!
For example, you can check your vehicles charge level in just a couple of taps on your smartphone. Not only will you know when it's time to recharge, but when you do come to charge your vehicle, you'll also be able to remotely check charging progress. There's also a really useful EV trip planner to help maximise range and efficiency, as well as providing information on the location of charging points on your chosen route.

FordPass Connect is a modem that is in-built to selected New Ford Cars and Vans. When the modem is activated, additional features are available through the app as detailed opposite.

To check if your vehicle has this functionality, go to the "Settings" section of your vehicle's SYNC navigation screen and look for a FordPass Connect tile.
If your vehicle is fitted with the in-built FordPass Connect modem, you will need to download the FordPass app and activate it. Our video above provides a handy guide on how to do this. The team at your local Gates Ford dealership will be happy to help you to activate it if you require any further assistance.
Unfortunately, there is currently no option to upgrade a vehicle to include FordPass Connect. The feature is only available on selected new Ford Cars and Vans which have the technology built in.
