March 2024 has been a momentous month in Gates’ history as we bid farewell to the Ford Fiesta, one of the bestselling new and used cars of all time. New 24-plate Fiestas have been going out thick and fast marking the end of an era for the iconic hatchback. Whilst there are plenty of fantastic Fiesta models amongst our Gates Approved Used Car stock, there will be no further brand-new models since Ford announced that production would stop in 2023.
Pictured here at Gates of Harlow is Mrs Bourne, taking delivery of her new 24-plate Fiesta Titanium from Sales Executive Rickie Meads. Rickie, who has been selling cars at Gates for over 42 years now, is certainly no stranger to the Ford Car range – including the legendary Ford Fiesta - and it is therefore very fitting for him to conduct such an historic handover.
From 1976 until 2024, there were eight different versions of the Ford Fiesta from the original mark 1, right through to today’s mark 8 model. In that time, the Ford Fiesta has evolved significantly but has always remained a much-loved super-mini. In fact, in 2022, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) there were an estimated 1.5 million Fiestas on the road in the UK!

As one door closes, another one inevitably opens and at Gates Ford, we are really excited to welcome some brand-new models joining the Ford Car and Commercial Vehicle range in the near future. New cars such as the New Ford Puma, New Ford Kuga and the New All-Electric Ford Explorer are all coming soon to your local dealership along with plenty of brand-new Commercial Vehicles such as the All-New Ford e-Transit Custom.
