The M-Sport is a limited-edition variant crafted by the M-Sport motor racing team responsible for Ford’s official World Rally Championship team. It’s based on a short-wheelbase model in Limited trim.
The M-Sport looks smart and aggressive at the same time, featuring metallic paint, a full body kit, OZ Racing wheels with 18-inch Michelin tyres, Eibach lowered suspension and a new exhaust system with a restyled diffuser.
It’s not all about looks, though. The M-Sport comes with rear barn doors and dual side loading doors, so it’s practical for commercial use too.
The Transit Connect M-Sport is no stripped-out racer, offering sumptuous accommodation thanks to the full Nappa leather upholstery with blue top-stitching, M-Sport limited-edition mats and a numbered plaque.
It also features sporty white M-Sport dials and a full leather Sports steering wheel, again with blue top-stitching to match the upholstery.
There are plenty of home comforts too, including a heated driver’s seat, air conditioning, automatic headlights and rain-sensing windscreen wipers, plus a Quickclear heated windscreen.
As it’s based on a short-wheelbase model, this means you get an impressive 2.9-cubic metre capacity that will haul luggage of up to 630kg.
The load space also features LED lighting so you don’t have to scrabble around in the dark looking for odds and ends, or try to use the light from your phone to find what you’re looking for.
M-Sport knows your business isn’t made of money, so while it looks like a mean racer, the Transit Connect is powered by a choice of two efficient and punchy diesel engines. Each offers impressive pulling power mixed with remarkable fuel economy, so your business won’t suffer huge bills.
Choose a Euro 5-compliant 1.6-litre TDCi with 113bhp and a manual gearbox, or a Euro 6-compliant 1.5-litre TDCi with 118bhp and a six-speed Powershift automatic.
The M-Sport model comes with ICE Pack 7 fitted, meaning it features a Ford DAB Navigation System. As well as helping you reach destinations more easily, this also includes a CD player and DAB digital radio, plus SYNC. This means you get Bluetooth connectivity so you can take calls conveniently while driving, plus Voice Controls, Emergency Assist, and a rear-view camera.
The M-Sport edition also comes with cruise control and rear parking sensors to make long journeys more comfortable, and parking at the end of them easier as well.
