In 2012, Ford’s appeal to both private buyers and businesses was highlighted by a number of the industry’s biggest names.
The year got off to a great start with the Mondeo being awarded two What Car? accolades for Best Family Car and Best Estate Car for the second year running. The triumphant Best Family Car model was the 113bhp 1.6-litre TDCi Zetec, while the 2.0-litre TDCi Zetec with 138bhp scooped the estate award. What Car? commented: “Ford has worked hard to keep the Mondeo refreshed and it has succeeded; this is still a great all-round package, either as a hatchback or an estate.”
Just two weeks later the new C-MAX and S-MAX MPVs gained plaudits from BusinessCar magazine. With sales of the five-seat C-MAX and seven-seat Grand C-MAX soaring, the duo were praised for their style, efficiency and practicality. Meanwhile, the S-MAX was crowned best MPV for the sixth year in a row.
