A quiet, refined drive is a standard requirement for modern motorists. While many manufacturers seek to reduce wind and road noise from the cabin through clever engineering and sound absorbing insulation, Ford has gone one step further with Active Noise Control.
This technology works in a similar way to noise cancelling headphones, but is more selective in the noises it excludes. Microphones are placed in the cabin to monitor external noise, such as that produced by the engine and powertrain, as well as wind and road noise. The system then analyses them and generates sound waves through the in-car speakers to cancel them out. This is done without interfering with music or communication systems.
As a result, you can enjoy a calmer, quieter drive in a cabin that is optimised for your concentration. It also enables clearer conversations, either with passengers or via the Ford SYNC system, and ensure you can enjoy music uninterrupted.
