Emergency Brake Assist

Did you know that many drivers fail to brake with enough force when faced with an emergency situation? Ford Emergency Brake Assist (also known as EBA) is designed to counteract this problem by providing extra power when you need it most – enabling your vehicle to achieve maximum braking effectiveness in critical scenarios.

This advanced braking system is automatically controlled via the state-of-the-art electronic stability control system, which detects how much pressure the driver has applied to the brake (and how quickly it’s been applied) and increases it if necessary. Emergency Brake Assist is smart enough to know when you’re trying to execute an emergency stop and reacts accordingly – applying the full amount of available brake force if required.

When Emergency Brake Assist is activated, the anti-lock braking system also kicks in in order to stop the wheels locking up – enabling you to remain steady whatever is going on around you. All this technology comes together to give you maximum stopping power, and can reduce the stopping distance in order to help you avoid potentially dangerous situations.

This innovative technology is just one of the many ways in which Ford provides total peace of mind when you get behind the wheel. It’s available in the new Focus, C-Max, Kuga and many more – all of which are on show here at Gates Ford.

You can find out more about Ford Emergency Brake Assist and a host of other smart features by contacting our expert team – and experience it for yourself by booking a test drive. Take a vehicle of your choice for a spin at your local showroom in Stevenage, Harlow, Bishop’s Stortford, Hertford, St Albans, Woodford, Potters Bar and Enfield.
