Ford Intelligent Protection System

There are two types of safety systems in use in the majority of modern vehicles. Active systems provide assistance with the prevention of accidents, while passive features offer protection in the event of a collision. Both types have formed the basis of standard safety on modern vehicles for some time. With Ford Intelligent Protection System, however, they are coordinated to activate together when necessary to ensure maximum protection for you and your passengers.

Technologies such as Electronic Brake-Force Distribution, Anti-Lock Braking, and Traction Control enable you to maintain or regain control of your car in difficult or unexpected circumstances. When a collision is inevitable, passive features such as airbags and the pedal intrusion prevention system are activated in the split-second before impact to minimise injury. By working as an integrated system, and in tandem with a rigid, protective bodyshell, these technologies are designed to protect a vehicle’s occupants more effectively.
