Used Ford Transit Custom

The Ford Transit Custom was first produced in 2012, when it was met with great acclaim from the automotive press. Perhaps more importantly, it is also the UK’s best-selling van.

One of this mid-size panel van’s strongest suits is its flexibility. It comes in short and long wheelbase (SWB and LWB) iterations too, allowing you to choose the one that best suits your needs. Even SWB variants are capable of transporting three Euro pallets, the only vehicle of its size to be able to do so. The van is also available as a Kombi minibus model, which is one of the best of its kind on the market.

The Transit Custom provides a car-like driving experience – and delivers a refined and quiet ride too. This is due, in part, to its solidly built construction but also because of its smooth-running engine. The van possesses a cargo bay length of 4.97 metres (SWB) or 5.34 metres (LWB), and provides up to 6,000 litres of load space.

The Transit Custom is powered by a 2.2-litre petrol or diesel engine. Fuel consumption figures range between 39.8mpg and 46.3mpg, while CO2 emissions vary from 189g/km to 162g/km.

The vehicle comes with a five-star Euro NCAP rating and passive safety features such as driver and passenger airbags and three-point seatbelts (with pre-tensioners and force-limiters). Among the Transit Custom’s standard driver aids are Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System, Hill-start Assist and Rollover Mitigation. The latter uses ESC sensors to monitor on-road activity; automatically reducing torque and/or increasing individual braking pressure to help prevent the vehicle from overturning.
