As one of the most iconic supercars in the world, the All-New Ford GT is set to be re-launched with the all new Ford GT announced as going in to production in late 2016. Numbers will be extremely limited making the all new Ford GT very exclusive which is hardly surprising given the fantastic looks which have already been revealed at recent motor shows. The new Ford GT retains reminiscent with its general framework following that of previous versions of the GT however, the new GT has been given sharper lines, illustrating its aerodynamic qualities whilst also offering a very aggressive position on the road. A very wide stance gives the new GT a muscular profile, with large bonnet louvres and a sizeable front grille both designed for increased airflow but also to enhance the futuristic look. Additional air inlets are positioned to the site of the car above the rear wheels allowing for improved downforce as well as to cool the substantial brakes included on this hugely powerful vehicle.
With a high-performance blend of aerodynamic styling, ultra-lightweight materials and a sophisticated EcoBoost V6 engine, the new GT represents the latest innovation from Ford. A true supercar, with dramatic styling and exhilarating power, the GT is set to begin production in late 2016 following its debut at the Detroit Motor Show in January 2015.
The aggressive styling of the GT features the same low profile as the
original iconic GT of the 1960s. Aerodynamic efficiency is at the heart
of the design; the body has been optimised with ducts and vents to
improve air flow and a tapering fuselage to set a clean air path to the
rear wing. Every detail is styled to perform a vital function but also
serves to give the GT a futuristic appearance. The bold, contemporary
details deliver high-quality finishing touches which give the car a
touch of class.
The refined cockpit is the perfect environment from which to experience the raw thrill of driving the GT. Streamlined design and intuitive controls give you absolute control over the immense power of the engine and allow you to make the driving experience all your own. The ultra-contemporary instrument panel and steering wheel are optimised, so you can give your undivided attention to the road and the power under your right foot.
The new Ford GT is set to be powered by an EcoBoost engine. The
EcoBoost technology has won Ford countless awards and provides
incredible performance so it seems logical for a high performance
version to be developed for this halo model. But this isn't to be
sniffed at, as this mid-positioned, dual fuel injected 3.5 litre V6
version is set to produce over 600 hp at the rear wheels, operated via a
dual clutch, seven speed gearbox. The chassis has been made from an
ultra-light weight carbon fibre material on a monocoque framework
ensuring the new GT is as light as it is power, further increasing its
performance statistics on top of its sports orientated designs.
Showcasing the very best of Ford’s EcoBoost technology, the innovative 3.5-litre twin-turbo charged V6 engine is mounted in the centre of the car and delivers 608PS. The generous use of lightweight materials such as carbon fibre ensures a power-to-weight ratio which propels the GT at breathtaking speeds. The aerodynamic styling generates tremendous downforce, and as a result the GT handles with precision and control.
Alongside the wealth of technological innovations that are designed to optimise performance, the GT also features technology which serves the driver. SYNC 3 is the latest version of Ford’s multimedia connectivity system and allows you to make calls, listen to music and more using simple voice-recognition technology.
Claimed to provide one of the best power to weight rations of any
production car, the new Ford GT is likely to be a serious competitor to
the other established supercars. To find out more or to register your
